Stories and reels are posted from the same place as everything else. A few things work differently from a normal post, so here’s the short version.
Before you start
- Your Instagram must be a professional account (business or creator), connected under Socials in the Social Planner.
- Have your photos or videos ready. Stories take up to 10 images or short videos; a reel is one video.
Post a story
- Select Marketing in the left menu, then New Post and Create New Post.
- Under Post to, tick your Instagram account only.
- Under Instagram options, set Post this as to Story. A story takes no caption.
- Upload your images or videos. Images up to 8 MB; videos up to 60 seconds.
- Select Post to publish now, or the arrow next to it to schedule.
Post a reel
- Same as above, but set Post this as to Reel.
- Upload your video: MP4 or MOV, portrait (9:16), between 3 seconds and 15 minutes.
- Add a caption and a cover image if you like.
- Post now or schedule.
Music, stickers and links are added in the Instagram app: turn on Publish via Push Notification for a story and you’ll get a reminder on your phone when it’s time to post, so you can add them in Instagram before it goes up. Reels take a caption from Kanamé but not on-screen text.

Scheduled stories and reels show on the Planner tab until they publish. If one fails, you’ll see it marked there; the usual cause is the Instagram account needing to be reconnected under Socials.
Where to go next
- Schedule a social post: regular posts to every network.
- Post the same thing every week: a repeating post.
